Our customers and crew love our renovated boats! Dear Jeanine and Team, thanks for your continuing help with remodeling our fleet of ships. It is a pleasure to work with you and we appreciate your prompt, creative and cost conscious replies and ideas - especially since we are so often "running from behind" to implement our renovation projects. Happy New Year and thank you.
I have used one of Directions In Design's staff interior designers for many years for the smallest of decorating needs to building an entire home. Their 40 years of experience delivers value well beyond their fees as we avoided costly mistakes and were guided past short term trends and fads. For more information I suggest you call Steve Patton at Directions In Design at 314-205-2010.
Client comment regarding "Design Dilemma" email: Beautiful work, as usual! Thanks for sharing.
Jane, I received your email about the condo remodel, fabulous and so first class....as expected!
Client comment regarding our educational programs for students: “Congratulations to you all for your part in keeping students grounded before they fly out of the box.”
41 years of Directions In Design! Wow that is a remarkable achievement of a successful business career. I know that did not come without a huge amount of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and challenges.
Friends introduced me to you as they saw and liked your work in display model homes. I remember you first worked with us perhaps in the early 1980’s when your office was a nice house on Olive/Clarkson Road in Chesterfield. I had made so many wrong decorating decisions and choices in our home and you rescued me and corrected them. Over the years you worked with me to make our home attractive, tasteful and comfortable. You became a dear and precious friend, not only my interior decorator.
Sincere congratulations and best wishes on an excellent job you and the staff at Directions In Design have accomplished.
In catching up with my reading, I came across this outstanding article. The story and photography are certainly award-winning, which was not unexpected. Congratulations on all these years of creating beauty and utility for so many satisfied clients!

Thoroughly enjoyed your article in Chesterfield Lifestyle Magazine. Knowing how often we read articles and know that the contents are only 50% accurate, nice to see these, which, based on our contact both in business and socially, are totally accurate in their content.

I spoke to an acquaintance today who saw your work at the Alinea high-end apartments with a clubhouse and she described it as “stunning”. Shortly afterwards I was thinking how hard you worked to get everything accomplished by the project opening on short notice, while others failed their tasks with a full year notice. I can’t thank you enough.
I am so grateful for Jeanine - she has been so helpful and wonderful to work with!
"Direction in Design, St Louis, MO " was one of the top interior design firms in the central region of the US." Let your team know that I thank them each for all the wonderful selections that each continues to provide from my materials.
Joel B., Product Consultant, Northstar Surfaces
I enjoy working with your team always, quick, clear, concise and practical.....for designers that's a rare and special skill.
JP H., Senior Preconstruction Manager, Welbro Building Corporation
Thank you for being so organized and professional. Directions In Design should become a top ten customer within my entire 8 state sales territory. They are also ranked as one of the largest design firms (hospitality, healthcare, and residential) in St. Louis. Bottom line, they are in the " big leagues" and are ranked nationally.
Susan S., Barrow Industries / Merrimac Textile, Norwood MA
Thank you very much for the truly beautiful job you did on the design. I doubt there is another retirement community who has a lounge as lovely as this one.
I enjoy your creativity the Lord has blessed you. Boy, what you do to a plain breakfast room is amazing!!!
I am pleased to write this letter as a testimonial for Jane Ganz, owner and principal of Directions in Design.
As the CEO of Mary's Woods at Marylhurst in Lake Oswego, Oregon, I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jane over the past three years.
I first met Jane at a senior living conference. She immediately impressed me with her long interior design experience in multiple venues and wide geographic settings.
Finally, most impressive was the quality of her work as evidenced by customer satisfaction and the numerous design awards that she has received. As a result of our meeting and the quality of her work, Mary's Woods was pleased to contract with Jane to lead the interior design work for a remodel and expansion of our dining and social lounge areas.
Jane was the consummate professional in the partnership that emerged. She brought her own professional set to us, but also was very engaged with our heritage and preferences. The first major project was the updating of our major dining room. The outcome was very well received by all segments of our community and has created a dining environment that is both inviting and charming. A second area that Jane designed was a new private dining room. I can only say that Jane created a five-star environment. It is beautiful, warm and so comfortable.
Her greatest achievement was the interior design and furnishing of a new social lounge with a food and wine bar. This space is simply spectacular and has become the centerpiece of our community. The focal point is a magnificent fireplace. The room furnished with the most inviting colors, light and comfortable furnishing that makes it truly our common living room. It is a space that has become heavily used and is universally praised for its beauty and its invitation to truly feel at home.
I am pleased to give the highest recommendation for Jane and her company. She was a remarkable gift to us and a true partner in our commitment to create an environment that is beautiful, warm and a reflection of our values and heritage.
My personal experiences working with Directions In Design of St. Louis, Missouri goes back to 1993 – a seventeen-year span of time working projects for the Woods Hole Steamship Authority, the Golden Gate Ferry District and other clients which are primarily engaged in commercial passenger vessel operations.
Directions In Design has partnered with Marine Systems Corporation over the past two years on several projects still in progress, most notably on a New York State Education Department vessel refit and a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority commuter ferry design.
Directions In Design has proven to be responsive, professional and thoroughly capable of fulfilling contract requirements, meeting schedule deadlines, and providing innovative ideas to enhance passenger amenities and operational efficiencies. Theirs is a firm of integrity where a client always gets what they contract for and more.
A bonus always has been that the Directions In Design team is a group of just good and fun people to work with. I can recommend them, without question, to any marine client.
EJ, Boston, MA
On behalf of all of us at Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG), I’d like to thank Directions In Design for our long history of successful cooperation between our firms. We recognize and appreciate that your support in the area of vessel interior design has contributed to the success of our ferry design projects for operators nationwide.
As a design firm providing architectural and marine engineering services for our marine industry, we know that the quality of the services we provide depends primarily on the skill, experience and knowledge of our staff, as well as the members of our team. We truly appreciate not only the design knowledge and creativity of your firm, but the experience and knowledge of industry rules and regulations.
The awareness that we each deliver solutions that have a direct, positive impact on communities is a characteristic shared between our companies. Your team continues to build on its reputation for delivering practical, yet innovate solutions for our projects. We look forward to future opportunities to work together.

I am so very honored to have worked with you on this project! Looking forward to the next!

Jane, it's a real pleasure working with someone as professional as you, who comes with exactly the choices I like. It's no wonder we are making such good progress. I also love the cooperative atmosphere in the office. Thank you for everything!
I have known the company Direction In Design for years and have heard about what a pleasure they are to work with through friends. Their projects are really high scale and they do a fantastic job. If you are looking for a design firm I would recommend you give them a call you will surely be amazed at the job they can do.
Dear Jane, You have a "real jewel" in the person of Cindy Belmont.
She has always been a favorite of mine because she is beautiful inside and out, always has the bearing of a lady, and is sweeter than any teaspoon of sugar. Anything she would put her heart to would be a masterpiece. Both of you together makes for GREAT EVERYTHING. Congratulations!
Directions In Design Reaches 40 Year Milestone And Still Growing
Thanks Jane for sharing this piece. I think it's brilliant and that's why you've been in business for 40 years! Serving clients' needs and explaining "why and how you do business" to fulfill that need and service is the very best way to build strong relationships and confidence in every sector of Directions In Design. Congratulations to you, David, Ryan and your beloved Directions In Design professionals!
I have had the pleasure of working with Jeanine Bequette and being a client of Directions in Design for the past twenty-two
years. Jeanine and I started our professional relationship in 1993 when she headed the interior design team on a new
Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket Steamship Authority (SSA) passenger/vehicle ferry.
The new vessel, MARTHA'S VlNEYARD, was constructed at Atlantic Marine in Jacksonville, FL, and became, upon delivery, the immediate fleet favorite largely due to the passenger amenities designed by Jeanine.
Jeanine, the SSA, and I have continued our relationship on new-build and mid-life passenger and passenger/vehicle interior design projects continuing up to the present day. The SSA ferries MARTHA'S VINEYARD, FLYING CLOUD, IYANOUGH, EAGLE, NANTUCKET, and ISLAND HOME all reflect Jeanine Bequette's interior design stamp of excellence.
Once again, I am privileged as the Steamship Authority's new construction on-site Owner's Representative to be working with Jeanine and Directions In Design on another addition to the SSA fleet, the MN WOODS HOLE. Not only has Jeanine provided excellent service and expertise on these projects over the years but her knowledge of Federal Regulatory Agency requirements and the commercial marine industry continues to smooth each contract progress.
Jeanine Bequette possesses a great design talent, an unusual ability to see and answer client's expectations, and a knack of organizing and
bringing to fruition major interior design projects. Even more, Jeanine isjust fun to be with and to work with. I highly recommend my
business associate and friend, Jeanine Bequette.
As the renovation phase of the Philadelphia Belle project winds down, I want to thank you and your company for your services. Perhaps the most
important role that I performed on the project was the selection of the best possible professionals in the industry for the various tasks involved.
I believe Directions In Design exceeded the expectations of the ownershi p group relative to the interior design work.
I appreciate your company's experience and knowledge in working with the technical issues of marine const ruction. Your willingness to assist in value engineering to help us maintain our construction budget was also important to the success of the project. I have seldom worked with consultants who were more responsive.
As in the past, I will continue to provide a most positive reference for your company's services, and wish you continued growth and success. I value both our professional and personal relationship.
I have worked with Directions In Design through the years in three different residences. I have found the interior architectural and interior design staff to be extremely creative and client centered (always good listeners). The results have always been absolutely beautiful as well as practical. DID's suggested options and creative solutions truly give me confidence in my decisions and allow me to actually enjoy updating my home.
I have worked with Directions In Design for almost 30 years and worked with at least 5 designers. All were wonderful, professional and easy to work with. I am currently working with them on a new home. I have always been pleased with the options that they have provided and the quality of the contractors they have recommended. They have always been good at delivery date estimates and remodeling estimates.
We worked with Jane Ganz on our kitchen update. Jane took the time to learn our style, and turned around a beautiful design quickly, and on budget. During the initial consultation, Jane also made practical suggestions for other areas of our home, which we plan to implement as time allows. Her style is impeccable and her professionalism is admirable. We highly recommend!
Top shelf. Truly professional in every aspect. Good to work with. Patient but very helpful. Good contacts in the industry for referrals as well.
We have done several projects with Jane at our Home in St. Louis and our condo in Naples Florida and we love them both. At one time we coinsidered moving but used Jane and her skils instead to revonate and redecorate and boy was that the right decision !!
You can't go wrong with Jane. We give her 5 Stars !!
I first used Directions in Design in 2003 when I completely gutted and renovated my townhouse in the Philadelphia area. I then used the company again in 2007 when I was relocated to North Carolina. In 2012, I bought a 2nd home on the coast in Florida and I called upon Directions In Design for my design needs for the 3rd time. I have been elated with their creativity, the ease of communications, and the fact they managed my projects on time and within budget; hence, I'm confident about employing this firm for a 4th time to redesign the interior of the yacht we just bought to keep behind our home in Florida. I can think of no other company to hire--but Directions In Design--to redesign the interior of our yacht. The designers at DID are adept at dealing with the complicated curvatures of a boat and the use of lightweight, marine materials used for durability in the sun, heat and salt environment. I especially enjoy working with Jane Ganz, the President of the company. She eases my mind throughout the demolition and reconstruction process by virtue of her efficient and reliable project management services. As has become usual in my experience with Directions In Design, my expectations continue to be exceeded. It is remarkable that it matters not that they are based in St. Louis, whereas I live in North Carolina and Florida now. The people in this company are so responsive and caring about their clients' needs, I look forward to working with them! Once again, I highly recommend this company, regardless of where you reside.
