Steve Patton Joins Directions In Design Family
Steve Patton of Frank Patton Interiors has recently joined the Directions in Design team as Vice President Communications. We’re very excited to have him!
A very smart person I know once said “sometimes it’s better to sell when you can and not when you want”. That was one of the factors leading us to close our family business of 53 years, Frank Patton Interiors. After many quiet years the St. Louis commercial real estate market was awakening and our Manchester Road location was drawing attention. This and a realization that my brother and I achieved AARP discount status, made the decision a little easier. Helping loyal employees transition their lives and winding down the business took the summer and part of the fall. Now what? Do I need a resume? Graduated from Mizzou on Friday, joined Dad’s family business on Monday, 38 years ago.
I am pleased to say I have joined my good friend Jane Ganz, founder of Directions In Design Inc. Jane founded her company in 1975 when I started with my Father. I’ve known Jane’s husband Dave Ganz since 1969. Dave was my track coach for 3 years at Parkway West High School. Of course, it wouldn’t be St. Louis if I Directions In Designn’t mention where I went to High School.
I started my position at Directions In Design on October 1st 2013. Each day I am amazed of the great diversity of projects Directions In Design is presently working on, such as a Casino/Hotel in Colorado, a luxury senior living facility in Jupiter, Fla., and a Hybrid/Hydrogen cell powered mega yacht in New York City. My primary task is to increase awareness of our capabilities in residential design and senior living. It’s great for me to have an architect and computer aided draftsperson on staff to quickly produce plans and drawings for interiors and exterior renovations. If you are considering a new primary or second home, we can help you from concept to completion. I feel very fortunate to have helped so many great customers, and will now be able to continue serving you from Directions In Design. Please call or email at any time, I would love to hear from you.”
