The Palace Group of Miami awards Directions In Design
the contract for a new Senior Living Community
in Homestead, Florida.
Located 25 miles north of Key Largo, The Palace Gardens will provide assisted living and memory care services for Seniors. DID has designed a Grand Southern Plantation interior to relive the days of vintage Florida with a lush tropical décor representing the finest gardens in the state. When you drive through the gates, spectacular fifty foot tall palm trees greet and guide you to the main building. Large arched doors lead into the Grand Plaza where residents gather with family and friends for socializing, relaxation, and entertainment. Twelve foot high ceilings in public areas allowed Directions In Design to create unique and spectacular ceiling architecture. “We always want to design the ceiling as the fifth wall, and give the eye a real treat as the ceiling magnificently brings the walls together”, said designer Jane Ganz ASID. Soft custom designed wool carpet in vibrant colored floral patterns complement the garden feel.
The 158,000 square foot community will include 200 residences and 55,000 square feet of amenities. A theater, ice cream parlor, technology library, beauty salon, health spa, and physical therapy, are part of the amenity package, along with luxury dining rooms for both assisted living and memory care. Jane Ganz ASID, founder of Directions In Design, said “we are so proud to be a part of this opportunity to design a topnotch facility for our Seniors. Being half way between Miami and Everglades National Park, they can enjoy both nature and the excitement of South Beach.”
