Cross Sound Ferry
Directions In Design has designed a VIP lounge addition for the top deck of the Cape Henlopen, a passenger-car ferry operated by the Cross Sound Ferry in New London, Connecticut. The vessel has a storied past. It was originally built as a World War II landing craft (USS LST 510) in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and participated in the D-Day invasion at Normandy in 1944 receiving one battle star for service.
The lounge will honor World War II veterans. We are currently designing a feature wall mural for the space using images from some of the veterans that were part of the crew of the vessel as well as images from The National World War II Museum and the United States LST Association.
